De acordo com a Polícia Civil (PC), a vítima foi identificada como Sérgio Souza Campos. Segundo a Superintendência Municipal de Trânsito (SMT), Sérgio praticava atividade física no momento do acidente, quando foi atingido de frente por um ciclista. Imagens de câmeras de segurança registraram o momento da colisão. (veja acima) Equipes do Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência (Samu) e da SMT foram acionadas e prestaram atendimento no local, mas a vítima não resistiu aos ferimentos e morreu ainda no local.
