Reports suggest that Samsung is planning to add a fourth model to its 2027 flagship phone roster in the shape of the Galaxy S27 Pro.
Samsung only just launched the Galaxy S26 range, but big rumours about next year’s models are already surfacing. Samsung will introduce a new Galaxy S27 Pro model that will sit between the Samsung Galaxy S27+ and the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, according to Korean outlet ETNews.
This is a fourth core flagship model, excluding the FE, which typically launches much later as an almost standalone device.
It seems the Pro model will closely resemble the range-topping Ultra variant, but will omit a major feature – the S Pen stylus. This could well continue the company’s sidelining of its distinctive stylus provision, following on the heels of notable downgrades and repeated rumours of its planned demise.
On a more positive note, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro could well include the clever Privacy Display feature that recently made its debut in the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Why Samsung might be going Pro
As is often the case with line-up decisions among the major smartphone manufacturers, this appears to have been a decision made in response to Apple, which now has a four-strong premium iPhone 17 line-up (not counting the iPhone 17e).
The report points out that Samsung last tried to add a new model to the roster in 2025 with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. Samsung’s super-slim ambitions were eventually put on hold, however, following poor sales.
These aren’t the first rumours we’ve heard of Samsung working on a Pro model. Early Samsung Galaxy S26 rumours suggested that the base variant would be replaced with a Pro model, offering a higher grade of compact phone to rival the iPhone 17 Pro.
Evidently, the company is intent on trying something new. It’ll be interesting to see if a potential Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro would offer a more affordable version of the Ultra, or if it would take on the top model’s pricing with the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra getting even more expensive.
Current component pricing pressures have meant that the Samsung Galaxy S26 range is more expensive than its Galaxy S25 predecessors, and those challenges are expected to continue in the immediate future.
